Bolehall Swifts 0-5 Hinckley AFC
An ill-tempered affair at Rene Road saw five goals and three red cards as Hinckley AFC beat Bolehall Swifts 5-0 on Tuesday evening.
Carl Abbott’s side provided the majority of the attacking threats throughout, and were 3-0 up at half time thanks to Marco Adaggio’s brace adding to Luke Richards’ opener.
By that time, Bolehall were already down to ten men after Rudy Misambo was sent off, and referee Joe Clarke showed two further red cards after the break, dismissing both Adaggio and Bolehall’s Michael Pollard.
Second half strikes from Richards and a fine Sean Williams effort secured Hinckley’s win over the bottom of the table Swifts.
Abbott handed a debut to Tom Cross in the Hinckley goal, while Elikem Amenku, Williams and Adaggio all returned to the side as four changes were made from the eleven that beat Copsewood Coventry last week.
Hinckley went ahead shortly after the quarter hour mark. Richards received Nathan Walker’s short corner on the edge of the box, and drilled a low shot inside Jordan Spencer’s near post.
Shortly afterwards, Cross had to be alert to deny Vagnol Kediambiko in a one on one situation and preserve his side’s lead.
That save was to prove crucial when Misambo tripped Adaggio inside the box and was dismissed for a professional foul. Adaggio made no mistake from the resulting spot kick.
And the same player made it 3-0 in first half stoppage time. Williams and Ryan Seal linked up well down the left, and it was from Williams’ cross that Adaggio slotted home his second.
Hinckley were to continue their dominance in the second half, making the most of their man advantage when Richards tapped home Williams’ delivery from close range.
Then came the game’s contentious talking point. Adaggio was involved in some off the ball wrestling with a Bolehall defender before he was floored by Pollard. Pollard was sent off, and after consulting with his assistants, referee Clarke also gave Adaggio his marching orders.
Despite being reduced to ten men, Hinckley still had a man advantage and they continued to make it count as Walker’s 25 yard free kick was tipped onto the crossbar.
Williams’ fierce drive from a narrow angle found Spencer’s far corner to complete the scoring as Hinckley won the first of their four games in hand on the league’s top two.
