A well-known face around the midland non-league circles, Dale Belford had a couple of spells at Hinckley United as a player alongside other notable terms at Tamworth and Atherstone United.

After retiring from a playing career which saw him keep goal for Tamworth across four decades (the only player to do so), his first steps into management were with Atherstone Town in 2010, where he stayed for a year before taking charge back at Tamworth.

As caretaker, he kept the Lambs in the Conference in 2012-13 and was duly appointed on a more permanent basis for the following season, in which they were relegated.

Following his departure from Tamworth he took charge of Rugby Town for a season, guiding them to a 9th place finish at step four, and has since done some scouting for Forest Green Rovers during their promotion season from the National League.

He arrived at Hinckley AFC in October 2017 to become the club’s successor to Carl Abbott.
