Now in his second spell with the club, Dom Smith is a big, strong and commanding central defender, who is physically dominant but also technically proficient with a good turn of pace.

Originally a target for Hinckley in the summer of 2014, he was lured by Conference North side Leamington for pre-season as Hinckley appeared to miss out.

However, holidays and injury niggles stunted his progress at Leamington, and Carl Abbott beat off competition from clubs at step four and step five to bring him to Hinckley.

After forming a strong central defensive partnership with Alex Morris, and having a hapy knack of popping up with crucial goals, he won the Manager’s Player of the Year award at the end of 2014-15.

He left for Lye Town early in 2015-16, but had little game time after picking up a knee injuy. He spent the latter half of last season with Willenhall Town and re-signed for AFc in the summer.
