Player/manager James Jepson took the reigns at Hinckley AFC after Richard Lavery stepped down at the end of the 2017-18 season.

Having joined the club as a player during Lavery’s tenure, the central midfielder joined Hinckley AFC from Quorn with a wealth of experience in the midlands non-league game.

He added experience and know-how to the middle of the park during the end of that season, with his set pieces a regular threat.

After starting out at Notts County and Lincoln City as part of their youth setups, he dropped into non-league upon his departure from Sincil Bank and played for a host of clubs around step four, including Kettering Town, Slough Town and AFC Rushden and Diamonds.

He also has experience in the dugout having had a spell as manager of Rugby Town, while he has also played abroad with spells in Australia.
